Midnight Sun - Twilight Saga's 5th Book

The Host is out and so is Breaking Dawn... Stephenie Meyer was
devastated when over 200 pages of her new book, Midnight Sun leaked
out. [Personally, I would be too] Fed up and left without any desire to
finish, she decided to put it down - possibly indefinitely.
Even so, petitions have been made such as this one with over 300,000 + names and numerous emails have found their way to poor Seth, her brother and webmaster too. Her blog post
said once she was finished with Breaking Dawn that she would continue
working on the novel, Midnight Sun with no time constraints. But, can
you wait? Should you still sign the petitions and use this to encourage
her to get writing? If was, after all, our fault that she stopped
writing it in the first place! [Not all of us, okay, but the ones who
couldn't wait..You know who you are ;o)]

On another note, twilight fans fell in love with Edward Cullen but, in it's sequel, Jacob Black gives Edward a run for his money. Stephanie - You are an incredible author. You have captured the hearts of millions of people around the world with you work. I can relate to your feelings of discouragement when people leak out your work after the time and dedication you have put into writing Midnight Sun. I write poetry and have even had it stolen, but don't let the ignorance of others steal your passion for writing. I am a big fan of your work. I hope that you reconsider finishing your book. You have so many people (men-women-children) that adore what you do. Good luck on your future endeavors.

Of course I doubt this message ever getting back to Stephanie Meyer or even her brother Seth, who handles the technical aspect of her website and seems to be Stephanie's messenger; but I just have the need to express my thoughts on Midnight Sun. Edward's side of his and Bella's first encounter and the beginning of their love story has so much more passion and contents then Bella's side could ever tell, due to the fact that Edward is more in the know then Bella is at the beginning. The mere reason that the first unfinished draft of Midnigh Sun left a gaping ache from a readers perspective, should be reason enough to finish and pusblish this story. It's almost like Spider Man; with great power, comes great responsibility. The fact that this series has created a phenomenon, and the writing power of Stephanie Meyers ability to seep into the very core of every women's fantasy in practically every age group old enough to understand the need for this series to exist, should be reason enough to finish Midnight Sun. More so, the fact that writing Midnight Sun, although fictional, gives women a chance to see the side of a Male's perspective when they are in love, between love and hate, between joy and pain, ane everything else in between. I've read The Twilight series about 4 to 5 times, including Midnight Sun...and that's each an every book; looking for a way to finish Edward's view of just Midnight Sun; I had to print screen Midnight Sun onto a word document which took me hours and days at a time so that I can possibly have a copy to carry with me, to read, any time I needed a dose. Stephanie indeed has created addicts; the Twilight series especially Midnight Sun has become my personal brand of heroin; it's getting the butterflies in your stomach, the ache in your chest, the feeling of hyperventilating, and then ~ the let down, when it's been almost 3 years since the Midnight Sun debacle, and we are still waiting for some type of message from Stephanie as to whether she has changed her mind about finishing this unforgettable love story. I am not sure that we can change her mind, but I've begged in my mind countless times that she would change her mind. I am sure there are millions of fans who wouldn't think twice about getting on their knees in public, if that would do the trick. Stephanie where ever you are...what would it take for you to finish Midnight Sun, how many pleas or begs would it take? Yes understandable...you've been busy with the Twilight series movies, and firstly and more importantly your family who should come first, may be occupying most of your time these days...but have you gotten up in the middle of the night to write a few paragraphs or pages, when the ache of Edward's torment hits your chest as you come up with your next line and your next, and your next, of what is going through his mind, right before he takes her to the meadow? I have.

Midnight Sun is the fifth book in the Twilight saga authored by Stephenie Meyer. The story focuses on the events of Twilight from the perspective of Edward, the lead vampire in the blockbuster film and novels. Although scheduled for release next in the series, the premature leak of the first 12 chapters online caused author Stephanie Meyer to shelve it for at least two years. Meyer did not name names as to who leaked the partial manuscript, but it's known that actor Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward, and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke have read it.
On Midnight Sun, Meyer comments, "I'd rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes." However, she decided to put the first 264 pages online to put a stop to fan speculation.

I'd ignore all the leaked material just to look forward to the finished product of "Midnight Sun", and I'm one of the most impatient Twilight Fans :-D I wish she would finish the book and continue the awsome Saga......
